Suzanne Edith "Suzi" Schmidt, 78, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2025, in Arcadia, Florida.
Born on August 30, 1947, in the scenic Catskills region of New York, Suzi was the daughter of Edith Augusta Marie Eisenhardt and Fredrick Schmidt. She grew up surrounded by the natural beauty of upstate New York and carried a deep appreciation for peaceful places throughout her life.
Suzi attended college in pursuit of higher education, though she ultimately chose a different path. Her life was defined not by degrees or titles but by the warmth she brought to those around her and the passions that filled her days.
She was a devoted mother to her four children: sons Paul and Darren Deschryver, and daughters Melissa Adriance and Melody Vargas. She had five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Her love for them was unwavering, and her presence will be deeply missed in their lives.
Suzi had a creative spirit and found joy in working with her hands. She spent countless hours sewing and crocheting—crafting pieces that were as practical as they were heartfelt. Reading was another cherished pastime; books offered her both comfort and adventure. But perhaps nothing brought her more peace than time spent at the beach. The sound of waves and the feel of sand beneath her feet were among her greatest pleasures.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edith Augusta Marie Eisenhardt and Fredrick Schmidt, as well as her sister Anita Bamert.
May Suzanne's memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her. We will miss you, Mom and so will Pickles (your cat).
