Tommy Harrell "T.H." Estes
11/13/1941-10/24/2025

T.H. was born in Littlefield, Texas on Nov. 13, 1941 to Harrell Dee Campbell and Sarah Lou King Campbell. T.H. and his sister Kathleen were adopted by their great-aunt Opal Throckmorton and her husband Harley Estes in 1947. T.H. died on Oct. 24, 2025, in Sherman, Texas. He was 83 years old.

T.H. is survived by his wife of 64 years, Patricia Ann Metcalf Estes.

His humor and love will be missed by his daughter and three sons; daughter Sherlynn Cayton and her husband Alan; son Darrell; son Wade and his wife Joyce; son Ryan and his wife Tabithia. T.H. was blessed with 18 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his parents and his sister Kathleen Estes Johnson.

T.H. was a faithful man who loved Jesus and wants us all to be with Him. He was an elder with Woods Street Church of Christ. He enjoyed attending church, singing, preaching, teaching, and singing. Yes, he really enjoyed singing.

After graduating from Oklahoma State University, he began his career in construction as a sales engineer with Watkins, Inc. in Wichita, KS before eventually starting his own company THE Contractors in Dallas, TX.
His follow-up career was as a farrier. He was very proud that he was able to continue to shoe horses, retiring at age 80. He loved horses from a young age. When he was a child, people would ask him if he was going to grow up to do shoe repair like his father, he would say no, he wanted to be the garbage man because the garbage man had horses. T.H. lived and taught the motto "If you enjoy what you do for a living, you'll never work a day in your life."

T.H. enjoyed creating leather works. He tooled beautiful holsters, bible covers, knife sheaths and saddles.

Although it is cliché, T.H. truly never met a stranger. He was blessed with many very dear friends.

Celebration of T.H.'s life will be at Western Heights Church of Christ, 800 Baker Park Dr, Sherman, Texas on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at 2pm.
