Send Flowers Plant A Tree
Born in Chicago, Illinois on June 24, 1949, and raised in Michigan, Terry’s adventurous spirit and creative heart shaped a life full of music, laughter, and love. A talented musician and passionate scuba diver, he found joy both above and below the waves. Inspired by legendary artists such as The Beatles, Frank Zappa, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, and America, Terry developed a lifelong appreciation for music that reflected his creativity and free spirit. He cherished his time exploring the beauty of Mackinac Island and carried that love with him through every place he lived—including California and Florida.

A dedicated medical lab technician, Terry devoted decades of his career to working in the blood bank, where his skill and compassion helped countless others.

Terry also invested countless hours researching and building his family tree, preserving the stories and connections that meant so much to him. His deep love for family will live on through those who knew him best.

He was the proud father of Ayron Trost and Sarah Trost, and grandfather of Rylie, Austin, Autumn, and Brody. Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Bobbie and Fredric Trost, and his brother, Bradley Trost. He is survived by his children, grandchildren, and brother, Donald Trost, who will carry forward his memory and legacy.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date to honor Terry’s remarkable journey and the joy he brought to others.

To honor his passion for music, and the joy he brought to others through sound, our family invites donations to Treasure Coast Hospice Music Therapy, in lieu of flowers. This organization brings live music to patients in hospitals, care facilities, and in homes—echoing the healing power of the melodies he cherished. May his legacy continue to uplift hearts, one song at a time.
