,Thomas G. Clancy, age 89; Beloved husband of Helen A. Clancy (nee Cartwright) for 68 years; Loving father of Dennis (Trenner Meuret) Clancy, Patrick (Patricia) Clancy and Cathryn "Katie" (Kevin O'Kennedy) Clancy; Proud grandpa of Allison Stabosz, Casey Stabosz, Jake (Megan) Clancy and Erin Stabosz; Dear brother of Irene Clancy and dear friend of Gerry Duyvejonck; Fond cousin to the Foertsch family; Proud graduate of De La Salle High School Class of 1953.
Tom, an adventurous spirit, cherished a life filled with love and exploration alongside Helen, the love of his life. Together, they embarked on many camping and travel adventures with their family to stunning destinations such as Yellowstone, The Grand Tetons, Minnesota, and even Ireland.
Tom worked nights as a telecommunications supervisor at Western Union for 40 years and finished out his career with MCI. Upon retiring to Stuart, Iowa, Tom embraced the beauty of country living with Helen and their adored dogs, Chip and Bear. Many treasured holidays were spent in Iowa, where laughter echoed as the family rode four-wheelers, fished together, and gathered around warm campfires.
Tom was a man of many talents, mastering each hobby he pursued. His passions included woodworking, daily cribbage games with Helen, and a deep interest in World War II history. He found joy in reading, whether it was captivating books or the daily newspaper. The legacy of his craftsmanship endures in the memories, photographs, and beautifully handmade wood furniture and trinkets that fill the homes of his family.
Tom will be remembered for his adventurous heart, loving nature, and the lasting impact he left on those fortunate enough to know him.
