Thomas (Tom) Eugene Hawkins, 76, joined his Lord and Savior in eternal peace on November 2, 2025, in Largo, Florida, surrounded by his family. Tom was born June 22, 1949, in Saint Louis, MO to Ernest and Neola Hawkins. In 1958, after several moves, Tom’s parents settled their family in Kansas City, where Tom grew up and became a proud member of North Kansas City High School’s Class of 1967. Tom resided in Kansas City, Missouri until 2022, when he moved to Largo to enjoy his retirement.

Tom’s dedication to hard work and service for others defined his career. He established himself within the automobile industry as a self-made entrepreneur or in his words, “A Purveyor of Pre-Owned Vehicles” across the Kansas City area. Tom made his "mark" within the Northland, operating the first and only Sinclair Fix and Repair Station in Platte Woods. With a dream and a single conversion van, Tom went on to establish a lifelong career, founding both KC North Auto Sales and Hawk Auto Sales in North Kansas City.

Tom is survived by the love of his life, partner and best friend of 20 years, Linda Farris; his children – sons, Todd Hawkins (Kelly), Paul Hawkins (Charlotte), and Jeff Hawkins (Kristi); step-daughter, Shelby Farris; and “shirt-tail” son, Ryan Hewitt (Katie); grandchildren – Quinn Hawkins, Sage Hawkins, Ava Hawkins, Jackson Hawkins, Dalton Hawkins, Kayla Evans, Quentin Evans, Ana Hawkins, Myla Hawkins, Charlotte Hewitt and Graham Hewitt; and great-grandson – Kaspian Millan.

Tom is also survived by his brother, Jack Hawkins (Connie) and sister, Susie Venable (Gaylen), along with many nieces, nephews and friends whom he considered family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Neola Hawkins, and brother, Richard Hawkins.

Tom’s life was a testament to his deep faith, steadfast loyalty, and quiet strength. Though he has gone to be with his Lord, Tom’s legacy shines on through his family and the countless lives he has touched with his generous heart, gentle kindness, quick wit, and unmistakable sense of humor — leaving memories that will be cherished forever.

Friends and loved ones are invited to visit with the family on December 13, 2025 at Fairview Christian Church,1800 NE 65th St, Kansas City MO 64118 beginning at 10:00 a.m followed by a service of remembrance at 10:30 a.m.

Immediately following the service, the family welcomes all who knew him to a Celebration of Tom’s Life at Side Pockets Blue Springs, 1237 MO-7, Blue Springs, MO 64014, where his humor and love may continue to shine in his honor.

Honoring Tom’s wishes, in lieu of flowers, the family invites those wishing to honor his memory do so through a memorial contribution to Fairview Christian Church.
