Thomas “Tom” Joseph Woytus, of Ferguson, Missouri, passed away on November 9, 2025, at 68 years old.
Tom was born on January 31, 1957, and grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Josephine Woytus; his sister, JoAnne Neukum; and his brother, Stanley Woytus. After graduating from Rosary High School in 1976, Tom built a respected career in construction. He worked as a Union carpenter and later owned and operated his own business, T. Woytus Construction. Over the years, he became known throughout North County for his meticulous craftsmanship, problem-solving abilities, and unwavering willingness to help those in need.
Tom was the proud father of five children: Angela Peacock (Woytus), Christine Jones (Woytus), Joseph Woytus, Elizabeth Woytus, and Caitlin Mayhew. With love, perseverance, humor, and a steadfast commitment to providing for his family, he raised his first four children on his own as a single father.
He treasured traveling, spending time with friends and family, walking park trails and through his neighborhood, calling his children and friends just to chat, and delivering his signature “bad dad jokes,” which he shared generously and often.
Tom is survived by his sisters, Mary Anne Chorney and RoseAnne Woytus; his five children; and six grandchildren, all of whom loved him dearly and will miss him deeply.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 21st, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 6386 Howdershell Road, Hazelwood, MO 63042.
