Timothy "Tim" Powers, 65, of Union, Missouri, passed away on November 14th, 2025, in St. Louis, Missouri. He was born on September 17th, 1960, outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to the late Kevin and Ann Powers.
Tim is survived by his children, Meaghan Powers, Stephen (Ashley) Powers, and Jonathan Urvater; his dog, Nanook; his brothers Kevin, Michael, Terry, and Brendan.
Tim spent much of his life serving the St. Louis Metropolitan community as a firefighter, EMT, and paramedic. Over the years, he worked with Abbott Ambulance, St. Louis City EMS and the Rescue Squad, the St. Louis Children's Hospital Transport Team, Clayton Fire Department, and St. Louis Fire Department. He was known for his hard work, quiet acts of kindness, and the steady reliability he brought to every call. Coworkers often described him as someone you could depend on; quick with honest advice, a dry joke, or a helping hand when it mattered the most.
Though he had a straightforward, no-nonsense way about him, Tim was deeply loyal and soft-hearted. He cared for others in ways they often didn't see whether it was staying late to help clean a truck, mentoring a new hire, or slipping a few dollars to someone in need. His humor, honesty, and steady presence left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Tim enjoyed the simple things in life: strong cups of coffee, great pyrenees rescues, juicy steaks, and time with his children, whom he cherished above all else. He will be remembered for his service, laughter, and the warmth he brought to those around him, even when he tried to hide it behind a tough exterior.
A church service will take place at St Raphael the Archangel in St. Louis on Saturday, November 22nd at 11:00 AM, followed by a celebration of life at the Local 73 Union Hall.
Tim will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his family, friends, fellow first responders, and the many lives he touched throughout his career and life.
