Vera Ann Miller, formerly Vera Ann Barton, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2025, in Silverton, Oregon, at the age of 81. Born on April 4, 1944, in Marshfield (now Coos Bay), Oregon, Vera led a life marked by dedication to family, community service, and a joyful spirit.
Vera worked for many years as an assembly line inspector at Tektronix before retiring. A proud member of Marquam United Methodist Church, she found strength and fellowship within her faith community.
She shared 56 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Howard. Together, they were active in several local organizations including the Brooks Truck Museum, the Moose Lodge, and the Molalla Senior Center. Vera also supported Howard's involvement with The Heiser Pumpkin Patch and the Grand Island Railroad.
Vera had a deep love for animals and was devoted to rescuing them throughout her life. She especially cherished horses and enjoyed riding when she could. Her artistic talents were expressed through crafts and artwork that brought joy to those around her. Known for her outgoing nature and love of fun, she enjoyed games like bingo and bunco the casino, and was a frequent winner
Children held a special place in Vera's heart. She and Howard fostered 15 children over the years, offering them love and stability.
Vera is survived by her sister Betty White of Aurora, Oregon; her brother Jim Barton of Aumsville, Oregon; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and grandchildren who will carry forward her legacy.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on November 15, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Molalla United Methodist Church, 111 S Mathias Rd. Molalla, with a reception to follow.
