Vernon H. Muench peacefully entered his heavenly home the morning of Wednesday, October 8, 2025, in Fond du Lac at the age of 91.
Vernon was born in Sheboygan on December 3, 1933, to Milton and Elsie (Gatzke) Muench. On September 3,1955, he married Donna Pieper at Trinity Lutheran Church, Dundee, WI.
His years of employment included farming, factory work, and driving truck. In retirement, he and Donna spent many years volunteering at Second Impressions Thrift Store. Vernon enjoyed many travels with Donna and other friends and relatives during the years. He was an active, involved member at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Town of Forest. He enjoyed getting together to play cards or celebrate a birthday or any other occasion. His other interests included hunting, fishing, helping family with home carpentry projects, doing puzzles, and making peanut brittle for his family at Christmas. He always worked hard and will be greatly missed, but he rests now with his Redeemer.
He is survived by his wife, Donna, children Joel and Sherry Muench, Julie Adelmeyer, Jason and Amy Muench, and Jon Muench; grandchildren Eric (Jessica) Muench, Jesse (Heydy) Muench, Jeanna (Mark) Donovan, Kristen (Justin) Cox, Michael (Terri) Kraus, Christopher Kraus, Megan (Jonah) Salm, Jared (Sara) Muench, Ashley, Jenna, and Trista Muench; great-grandchildren Drake Muench, Lidean, Rowan, Greyson, and Willow Donovan, Carson and Kinley Cox, Alexus (Mitchell) McEssey, Preston (Brooke) and Chance Kraus, Lincoln and Baby Salm, and Ellis Muench; great-great-grandchildren Lucas and Amelia McEssey, and Silas and Theo Kraus; sister-in-law Kay Muench and brother-in-law Duane (Linda) Pieper. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
Vernon was preceded in death by his parents, his father-in-law and mother-in-law Walner and Marcella Pieper/Buehner, and step father-in-law Kenneth Buehner; his siblings Eugene (Norma) Muench, LeRoy (Hollis) Muench, and James Muench; brother-in-law Myron (Corinne) Pieper and sister-in-law, Bette (James) Gillard; son-in-law Tom Adelmeyer and daughter-in-law Lynn Muench.
Funeral services will be held 6:30 p.m. on Friday, October 17, 2025, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, N6693 County Road W, Mount Calvary. Officiating will be the Rev. Ian Headrick. The family will greet relatives and friends at the church from 4 p.m. until the time of service at 6:30 p.m. Burial will be held at a later date.
