Veronica Cannella of Lucas, Texas passed away on October 28, 2025 at the age of 81. She was born to loving parents, Willam Joseph Market and Veronica (Dillon) Market on October 23, 1944, in Queens, New York. Veronica was raised on Long Island, New York, where she attended Levittown High School.
Veronica was preceded in death by her husband Victor Cannella of 61 years, her parents, her son, Wayne, her daughter Maureen and her sister Mary Newby.
Veronica is survived by her son, Joseph Cannella (Kelley) of Murphy, Texas; daughters, Victoria Martucci (Chuck) of Vernon, Connecticut, Yvette Hindman (Jeff) of Erie, Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Kasey, Ryan, Alex, Kyle, Justin, Kara, Lindsay, Emily, Eric, Nevaeh; great-grandchildren, Oliver, Amelia, Joseph, Nico, Zayne, Simon; sister-in-law, Joanne Haines (Don) of Ronkonkoma, New York; and a host of other numerous loving family and friends.
It was during her time working at May's department store where she met the love of her life, Victor Cannella. They married on April 20, 1963, beginning a lifelong partnership of love and devotion.
Throughout her career as an administrative assistant, Veronica worked for several companies across the country as Victor's career with IBM took the family to new places. Eventually, they settled in Dallas, where she and Victor started and operated an automotive repair shop, building it with hard work and dedication. Her commitment to her career was matched only by her devotion to her family. Together, they lovingly raised five children — Maureen, Joseph, Victoria, Yvette, and Wayne — creating a home filled with love, care, and laughter.
She enjoyed time with family and friends and was always taking care of everybody else. Veronica was also a devoted member of St. Jude Catholic Church, where her faith was a cornerstone of her life. Her true joy came from her family.
