Victor Joseph “Joe” Droubie, affectionately known as “Uncle Joe,” passed away on October 12, 2025, in Tampa, Florida, at the age of 65.

Born on March 4, 1960, in Saint Paul, Minnesota, Joe was the son of Victor and Christine Droubie. He graduated from Cretin-Derham Hall High School in 1978 and began his college studies at the University of St. Thomas in 1979. At the age of 19, he moved to Clearwater, Florida—a decision he often described with a smile and a nod to Otis Redding’s lyrics: “Sittin’ on the dock of the bay… wasting time.” He went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of South Florida in 1983.

Joe built a distinguished career in financial services that spanned several decades. He began as a Financial Advisor with Shearson Lehman Hutton from 1988 to 1990. From 1995 to 2000, he served as Second Vice President Investments Financial Advisor at Morgan Stanley. In 2000, he joined Wells Fargo as Vice President of Investments and Choice Portfolio Manager and was there for nearly 20 years until 2019. Most recently, he worked as an Investment Advisor with LPL Financial. His professional expertise included portfolio management, risk assessment, and financial planning—skills that earned him the respect and trust of colleagues, clients and the business community.

Outside of his career, Joe was known for his exuberant spirit and deep love for family and friends. He was the heart behind “Droubie Sibling Week,” organizing joyful reunions in places that include the Caribbean, the lakes of Minnesota, lights of Las Vegas. His enthusiasm for life was infectious—whether indulging in his favorite food prime rib, skiing down the slopes of the Rockies, or playing a round of golf. He was also known for his playful antics, including diving into a "Mermaid Encounter" aquarium—an act that perfectly captured his unique sense of humor. Joe had a gift for laughter. He coined phrases like “Un cle Joe Un cle Joe” and “Hip Hip Droubay!”—expressions that continue to bring smiles to those who remember him. His charm was magnetic, and his laughter left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

He is lovingly remembered by his siblings: brothers Robert Droubie (Kiku) and Gary Droubie (Nancy); sisters Lois (Steve) Gergen, Linda Fairchild, Brenda Jones and Kristianne Droubie, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who cherished their Uncle Joe.

Joe now joins in rest, his parents, Victor and Christine; his brother Thomas Droubie; sister-in-law Chrissy Droubie; niece Karen Thuente and her infant daughter Eleanor.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place in Clearwater, Florida on Friday, January 16, 2026 at 11 a.m.

A visitation will be held in the church during the hour prior mass time.

May his loving memory bring comfort to those who knew him and may we all remember to take time now and then, to sit on our own docks -"watching the tide roll away."

We will always love and miss you, Joe!
