Victoria Leslie Austin

Victoria Leslie Austin, 68, passed away on November 12, 2025 in Castro Valley, California in the presence of her three daughters. She was born on June 28, 1957 in Chicago, IL to Katherine Biddle Austin and Robert Lynn Austin. Over the course of her life Vicky was an activist, member of Wellesley College's class of 1979, bridge player, rower, voracious reader, children's basketball coach, college professor, pickleball player, fine dining food and beverage director, avid supporter of local women's sports, salt-and-pepper shaker collector, and a mother who wore all the hats of motherhood at once for her three daughters. She was also a dedicated friend who amassed a large circle of people who knew and loved her. She cared deeply about her family and was remarkably adept at staying in touch with the people who mattered to her despite those friendships spanning many decades and thousands of miles. Vicky is survived by her daughters Zella Henderson, Lydia Henderson, and Amelia Greco, as well as her sisters Jeannie Austin and Elizabeth Asch, and her brother Rob Austin.

A memorial service will be held for her at:

The service will be on Saturday November 22, 2025 at three o'clock in the afternoon. There will be a gathering to follow at her home in Castro Valley.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations made in her honor to causes that were meaningful to her.
