Vincent Walsh, son of Francis and Anne Walsh, departed the earth on September 24, 2025 at 78 years old. His family includes his son Erich Dylan Walsh, Erich's mother Mary, his wife Beth and their three sons Avery, Cameron, and Graham. His siblings include his sister Mary Walsh, sister Frances Wilburn, her deceased husband Jerry Wilburn and their sons Keith, his wife Ali, Paul and wife Danielle, Christopher and wife Ashley, and Stephen and wife Valerie, brother Michael Walsh, his wife Barbara, who share daughters Katie and Maria, and Michael’s daughter Tara (whose mother is Jane Nordli), as well as his deceased brother Stephen Walsh and his son Emanuel DiNike.
Vincent was a devoted teacher, particularly in helping underserved inner city students throughout Connecticut and the Bronx. He persevered through many challenges throughout his life, showing a determined spirit and belief that it's never too late in life to achieve your dreams. This was manifested in his earning his doctorate from Lehigh University in 2014 at the age of 67 and publishing his book, No Child Left Behind, in 2023 that reflected upon his past teaching experiences and philosophies on what these students endure.
He was a compassionate man who was a fierce proponent of human rights, environmental justice, and had a unique and loving relationship with nature and all of its inhabitants. He also enjoyed practicing and teaching Tai Chi and playing guitar and piano for others at senior centers and independent living facilities over the past 30 years. In addition, he played guitar and sang at cafes and bars all around CT, even producing a CD called ‘Princess,’ whose songs are dedicated to his closest and dearest friend Roxanne. He left an everlasting mark on those who knew him, and he will be deeply missed. May he walk through the fields, surrounded by its beauty, practicing Tai Chi and Qigong, finally attaining the tranquility and inner peace he had always strived to achieve.
