Virginia Kay "Kay" Dewire, age 75, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2025, in Milton, Florida, surrounded by loved ones.

Born on February 17, 1950, in Monroe, Louisiana, Kay was the cherished daughter of Robert and Virginia Anders. She spent her formative years in Atlanta, Georgia, where she attended Lakeside High School. It was during these early years that she began forging the friendships and values that would shape her life. These memories remained vivid and dear to her—stories she often shared with her oldest granddaughter, recounting tales of first romances and joyful moments with friends during the vibrant 1960s.

Inspired by her father's example, Kay pursued a career with Goodyear in Dallas. With determination and grace, she honored the legacy of the man she so deeply admired. Her love for her father was profound and enduring; her faith assured her that she would see him again at heaven's gate.

Later in life, Kay embraced what became her most treasured role: a devoted mother and homemaker. As a young single mother, she worked tirelessly to provide the best life possible for her son, Brian. Her commitment to family extended deeply—she doted on her parents and lovingly cared for her mother in later years. Her bond with her sisters, Beth and Deborah Anders, was a source of constant joy. Around her home were countless artworks depicting three sisters—a tribute to their unbreakable bond and the love they shared.

Kay's love language was giving. She had an extraordinary talent for selecting meaningful gifts that captured the essence of those she loved. Whether through thoughtful gestures or heartfelt stories from her travels, she touched lives with quiet magic. A joyful traveler and avid shopper, Kay approached life with enthusiasm and curiosity. She delighted in exploring new places—often accompanied by her middle sister, oldest granddaughter or husband Ronald—and found joy in every shared laugh along the way.

Faith was the foundation of Kay's life. As a devoted member of Immanuel Baptist Church, she walked a spiritual path marked by steadfast commitment. Her faith remained strong through all seasons of life and served as a guiding light even through its darkest valleys. She took special joy in sharing this spiritual foundation with her oldest granddaughter, helping raise her within the loving community of their church—a fellowship that brought Kay great comfort and connection.

Kay is lovingly remembered by her husband, Ronald Dewire; her son, Brian Glass; and her grandchildren: Hannah Glass—whom she helped raise with deep care and devotion—Elijah Glass, Zoe Glass, and Simeon Glass. She is also remembered fondly by her sisters Beth Anders and Deborah Anders; and by lifelong friend Jacqualin Wright—a soul sister whose enduring bond with Kay brought warmth throughout their lives.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Robert and Virginia Anders.

Kay's gentle spirit continues to shine like the soft light of dawn—her kindness etched into every heart she touched. May her memory be a comfort and blessing until we meet again in the morning.
