Virginia "Ginny" Mauney Fox, 75, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2025.

Born on October 25, 1949, in Lynchburg, Virginia, Ginny was the daughter of the late Reverend Marshall and Virginia Mauney. She grew up in West Columbia, South Carolina, where she attended elementary through high school.

Ginny went on to graduate from Lenoir Rhyne University in Hickory, North Carolina, and began her career as a dedicated educator, initially teaching 4th grade in Virginia Beach. Ginny was also an accomplished pianist who shared her gifts with countless students, teaching piano lessons for over 30 years. Her home was always filled with the sounds of music, a reflection of her nurturing spirit and creative soul.

A woman of deep faith and extraordinary musical talent, Ginny's life was a testament to her love for God and her family. For 20 years, she served as the beloved organist and choir director at Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Virginia Beach, where her kindness, smile and music filled the sanctuary. Her passion for sharing music with the next generation then led her to serve as the Director of Children's Music at First Lutheran Church in Norfolk, Virginia, for seven years.

Above all, Ginny was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She is survived by her devoted husband of 54 years, Steve Fox; her daughters, Claire (Brad) and Debbie (Nestor); and her cherished grandchildren, Ava, Audrey, and Haley. Ginny was predeceased by her sister Carol (Bill) and is survived by her loving brothers, Jim (Lynda) and Bobby (Lorrie). Ginny loved visiting her daughters and grandchildren, and her presence brought joy to every family gathering. Her devotion to her family and her church was unwavering, and she was deeply loved by all who knew her.

The family is grateful to the team of caregivers and nurses who made Ginny more comfortable as her health declined, including Angelica, Amy, Carmen, Cecilia, Flora, Kate, Kelly, Liza, Melvie, Nori, and Sheka. The family is also thankful for the friends and family who visited Ginny, brought countless meals, and shared their own musical talents with her. Navigating this difficult time would have been unimaginable without all of you.

A memorial service and reception will take place to celebrate Ginny's life and her beautiful legacy on November 15, 2025 at 11:00am at First Lutheran Church, 1301 Colley Avenue, Norfolk, VA 23517. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Lutheran Church.
