Wanda Lee Cook (Ross/Wallis), aged 93, passed away on October 24, 2025, in Phoenix, AZ. Born on September 15, 1932, to Sydney Ross and Carolyn Priemer, Wanda was loved and respected by all who knew her.
Wanda's early education took place at McKinley School, followed by her graduation from Phoenix Union High School in the class of 1950. Her working career included Mountain States Phone Co., Components, Inc., and Sperry Univac.
A devout member of the First Church of Christ (Lincoln Heights Christian Church) since birth, Wanda was very active in the life of the church. She taught various youth groups and Bible classes, enriching many lives with her faith and wisdom. She also showed her love and support by sending greeting cards to whomever needed cheer. Her musical talent extended to singing in the church choir, where she met her beloved husband, John C. Cook.
Wanda's creativity was evidenced in many ways. She was an avid cake decorator, even making custom wedding cakes for her children Cathy and Phil. Her love for creating holiday decorations brought joy to many. Wanda's adventurous spirit was evident in her travels across various states and her memorable trip to Manizales, Colombia, for the wedding of her son, David and daughter in law, Claudia.
Wanda is survived by her loving children, Cathy Lynn Bodell (Bob) of Benzonia, MI; Philip Alan of Sacramento, CA; Rebecca Ann Bates (Jim) of Annandale, VA; and David Jonathan (Claudia) of Phoenix, AZ. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two nephews, and one niece. Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Cook, and her brother, Stephen Wallis.
Wanda's life was a testament to her loving commitment to God and family . She will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
