In Loving Memory of Weldon Leroy Boyington
October 18, 1930- October 31, 2025

Weldon Leroy Boyington, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 31, 2025, in Andalusia, Alabama, at the age of 95.

Born in Anson, Maine, to Frank Royal and Alta Quinby Boyington, Weldon's life was marked by hard work, adventure, laughter, and deep devotion to those he loved. Raised in Embden, Maine, and educated in a one-room schoolhouse, Weldon spent his adolescent years enjoying the adventures of living in the Maine wilderness. He was one of 8 children and often recalled fond memories of the many happy and bucolic years spent on his family farm in Maine, with his 4 sisters and 3 brothers. As a teenager, Weldon moved with his family to New Haven, Connecticut, where he began learning the floor-covering trade from his father and brother-in law Bun Berry. Weldon went on to own and operate his own floor covering business for more than 40 years, earning a reputation for skill, integrity, and dedication to his customers and craft.

It was in Connecticut that he met the love of his life, Elaine Pantalone with whom he shared many joyful decades and raised four wonderful children: Cynthia, David, Kenneth, and Wayne. Together, Weldon and Elaine built a warm and loving home in Branford, Connecticut, later moving to Clinton, Connecticut, and eventually returning to his cherished roots in Embden, Maine. There, Weldon fulfilled his dream of building a home on the lake—a gathering place filled with laughter, storytelling, and the unforgettable essence of the outdoors he so loved.

After Elaine's passing, Weldon was blessed to find love and companionship once again with Jolene Snowden Boyington, his devoted wife and partner of 22 years. Together, they made a beautiful life in Andalusia, Alabama, surrounded by Jolene's family, who loved Weldon as one of their own.

Weldon was a true outdoorsman and a life-long competitor. He excelled in bowling, golf, and enjoyed his true life-long passions of fishing, hunting, and snowmobiling. Whether on the water, in the woods, or around a card table, his spirited humor, wit, and wisdom were ever present. A hard worker with a generous heart and a love of fun, Weldon was a "larger-than-life" presence who left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

He is survived by Jolene; his four children and their spouses; his nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; his brothers Richard and Mahlon; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family who adored him.

Weldon will be laid to rest in Solon, Maine, beside his beloved Elaine and among generations of family who came before him. Though he is gone from sight, his stories, laughter, and love will live on in all who knew him.
