William Biesecker, 81, passed away on November 11, 2025, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. A gifted musician, beloved teacher, and Navy veteran, Bill lived a life rich with music, laughter, and unforgettable stories.

Born on June 20, 1944, in York, Pennsylvania, Bill grew up surrounded by the rhythms of small-town life and the melodies that would shape his future. He graduated from Spring Grove Area High School in 1962 and soon after pursued his passion for music at the prestigious Peabody Institute in Baltimore. There he earned a Bachelor of Music degree and laid the foundation for what would become an extraordinary career spanning more than four decades.

Bill served in the United States Navy from 1962 to 1968 as a member of the Navy Band. His time in service not only deepened his musical discipline but also broadened his experience as a performer. After completing his military service, he embarked on a professional music career that took him across stages and studios nationwide.

Over the course of more than 40 years as a professional musician, Bill performed alongside some of the most iconic names in entertainment. Among the many highlights of his career were performances backing up legends such as Jimi Hendrix, Michael Jackson, Barbra Streisand, and Kristin Chenoweth. His talent on guitar was widely admired—his students often described his playing as "breathtaking" and referred to him as a "musical genius."

But perhaps even more impactful than his performances was Bill's dedication to teaching. He was a mentor who never sought fame for himself but poured his energy into helping others shine. His students remember him not only for his technical brilliance but also for his unwavering encouragement and infectious humor.

Bill's personality was as vibrant as his music. Known for being unique, hip, cool—and above all—funny, he had an endless supply of jokes and stories that could light up any room. His laughter was unmistakable and unforgettable; those who knew him can still hear it echoing in their hearts.

He is survived by his sister Bonnie Gillespie and her husband James; his brother Barry Biesecker and Barry's wife Nina; as well as a niece and several grand-nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Lois and Glenn Biesecker and by his sister JoAnne Jensen.

William Biesecker leaves behind a legacy of music, mentorship, and mirth—a life lived fully with purpose and joy. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and inspiration to those who continue to play the notes he once so beautifully strummed.
