William “Bill” Fockler
June 15, 1957 - October 22, 2025
William “Bill” Fockler, beloved father, brother, and friend, passed away on October 22, 2025 at the age of 68. Bill’s life was marked by service, laughter, and a boundless love for people and the outdoors.
Born to Grace Fockler Kincaid and Max Fockler in Sandusky, MI, Bill grew up learning the values of hard work, loyalty, and compassion, virtues he carried with him throughout his life. He was a part of the Deckerville 1975 class and was a proud Eagle. Bill proudly served his community as both a police officer and a firefighter, dedicating countless hours to keeping others safe. He most recently had been employed at Valley Enterprises in Ubly, until his retirement. His courage and generosity touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Bill was the proud father of two daughters, A’Leah and Rachel, who were the joy and pride of his life. He never missed an opportunity to talk about them, beam with pride at their accomplishments, or remind others how blessed he was to be their dad.
Known for his easy smile and his love for teasing, Bill had a gift for turning strangers into friends. Bill was one of those people that knew everyone else. Whether at a barbecue, a hunting or fishing trip, he brought people together through humor, warmth, and genuine care. He had a love for the outdoors and a deep appreciation for simple pleasures, especially a perfectly grilled piece of meat shared among good company.
Bill’s legacy lives on in the many lives he brightened, the friends who will forever cherish his memory, and the family who will continue to feel his love and laughter echo in their hearts.
He is survived by his daughters, A’Leah and Rachel Fockler; siblings, Peggy (Steven) Abram, Maxine (Joe) Kubik, Charlotte (Al) Abbott; step-siblings, Terry (Brenda) Kincaid, Patty (Steve) Gwisdalla, Sharon Fahs, Luann (Dennis) Griffith; many nieces and nephews; and many dear friends who became like family. He was preceded in death by his mother, Grace Fockler Kincaid, father, Max William Fockler, and numerous aunts and uncles.
A celebration of Bill’s life will be held from 1-4pm on Saturday November 8th, 2025 at the Brockway Firehall (address: 7644 S Brockway Rd, Yale, MI 48097). Friends and family are invited to grieve and celebrate his life. Lunch will be provided.
