Worth Martin Blake of Trophy Club, TX, was a kind, generous, and beautiful spirit. He was born in 1933 and grew up in the west Texas farming community of Ingleside. He was a devout Christian, husband, father, Texas A&M Aggie, basketball player, Army pilot for 22 years attaining the rank of Major, president of the North Texas Commission in the 1980s, and managed his own economic development company, Worth Blake & Associates, for several years.

Most importantly, he met the love of his life, Dorothy, dazzling her by the poolside in his Army uniform and shiny 1950’s black and white Pontiac. They wed the day after Valentine's Day in 1964, perfect timing for celebrating their almost 62 beautiful anniversaries together.

Worth is survived by the love of his life, his eternally devoted, and loving wife, Dorothy. They were blessed with three children and their spouses, Dorlisa (Paul) Thrower, Keller, TX; Leslyn Blake of Sachse, TX; and Martin (Emily) Blake of Denton, TX. GranPa, as he was affectionately known, also leaves behind six amazing grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Worth loved life. He especially loved gardening, spending time with his wife, East Texas, time on the lake, hearty farm style breakfasts, pecan pies and banana pudding, Dr. Pepper, sharing his ice cream, admiring his hard work after a hard day working outside, fresh tomatoes with absolutely any meal, and above all, his family.

Please do something to leave your camp’s wood pile a little higher in memory of the great Worth Blake. He was a keeper of the faith and certainly fought the good fight. He was a man of great honor and above all, he loved.
