Yvonne Padrnos, born on March 16, 1937, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2025, in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. She was 88 years old.
Vonny lived a life marked by courage, creativity, and deep devotion to her family. In a bold move, she and her beloved husband, Dan, left the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul, to purchase a small, neglected resort, in northern Minnesota. With vision and determination, she and Dan transformed it into a thriving destination that became a cherished retreat for countless families—many of whom returned year after year to enjoy its warmth and hospitality.
The resort was more than just a business; it was the heart of Vonny's family life. It served as the backdrop for countless memories and traditions that brought her loved ones together. Holidays were especially magical under her care. Halloween came alive with haunted houses, while Christmases were unforgettable gatherings where the living room overflowed with gifts for her grandchildren.
Music was another thread woven deeply into Vonny's life. She found great joy in playing the piano and sharing music with those around her. One of the most treasured family traditions was gathering around the kitchen table during Christmastime to sing carols together.
Vonny's legacy lives on through her loving family: Norma (Bob ) Padrnos-Usset; Dan (Sue) Padrnos; Diane (Jason) Padrnos; Joan (Jeff) Padrnos-Heinz; along with her 17 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Her beloved husband Dan preceded her in death.
Through her entrepreneurial spirit, musical heart, and unwavering dedication to family traditions, Vonny created a life rich in meaning and connection. Her memory will continue to inspire all who knew her.
A private service will be held to honor her life. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Parkinson's Foundation. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
